  • Pre-registration and TSA

    All foreign citizens who intend to travel to Cape Verde are required to pre-register up to 5 days before the start of their trip and pay the Airport Security Fee.


    The TSA is a service paid for services provided to air transport passengers for the prevention and suppression of illegal acts and the promotion of the civil aviation security system.


  • What is the TSA and what is it for?

    The Airport Security Fee (TSA) is due as a compensation for the services provided to air transport passengers and it is intended to cover the costs related to human and material resources allocated to ensure border security and safety as well as for the prevention and repression of illegal acts and for the safety enhancement of the civil aviation system.

  • What is the TSA amount and how is it charded?

    The TSA is charged on both domestic and international flights. The TSA amount for domestic flights remains at 150 CVE and it will continue to be charged at the time of ticketing. Regarding international flights, the TSA was set at 3,400 CVE and it will be charged at the time of registration when using the online electronic platform (www.ease.gov.cv) or, exceptionally, on arrival at the Border. On arrival, TSA payments can be made in cash or credit card, although subjected to additional fee.

    Passport valid for at least six (6) months during your stay in Cape Verde.

  • Who pays for the TSA's services?

    All passengers disembarking at airports or airfields in the country, regardless of the flight, except passengers who are exempt from these fees.

  • Who doesn't pay for TSA's services?

    -Cape Verde passports on international flights

    -On international flights, citizens of Cape Verde, as well as their spouses and descendants, upon presentation of a passport, birth certificate, marriage certificate or other document attesting to their birth, marriage or the child of a father or mother born in Cape Verde 

    -Children under two years of age;

    -Passengers who, included in official missions, disembark in aircraft in the private service of the State of Cape Verde or a foreign State, under reciprocity regime;

    -Passengers of aircraft that land due to a forced return to the airport, justified by technical or meteorological reasons, or others of force majeure, duly proven;

    Passengers in transit at national airports.


  • When is the TSA payment due?

    TSA is due whenever a passenger disembarks at domestic airports and airfields.

  • Do Cape Verdean emigrants pay TSA?

    No, upon presentation of a document proving your nationality.

     

    Cape Verdean citizens and citizens traveling on foreign passports are not subject to the TSA fee and are not subject to pre-registration.

  • Do I need a covid test to enter Cape Verde?

    If you are vaccinated, you do not have to submit the covid test, and if you are not vaccinated, you must have a covid PCR or antigenic test in order to enter Cape Verde.
